I've heard there was only a little bit of damage in the South where Kway and the Karaka are. I bet they are fine. The phones are down and they don't even have a phone, they were borrowing somebody else's phone when I talked to Kway last weekend. I have a friend in Lakay, which is nearby and he reported only a little damage. Phones are still not working, it could be a while before you hear from them, if I were them I'd have already left for Cuba.

And everybody else keep praying for a decent emergency response, right now a lot of people are without drinking water and food and everybody is sleeping under the stars for fear of more tremors. Pray it does not rain. The only response I've seen so far on the ground has been by individuals and some limited medical response from Doctors Without Borders and some local hospitals.

What is the best way to help from afar? Which organizations do you think will make the best use of cash donations? Be well, and keep going. We're all thinking about you.
It's coming, Sweetie! I just heard on NPR that planes are "lined up" over Port au Prince, trying to land with relief supplies, doctors, nurses and Marines. (As I type, I'm listening to an interview with a survivor from Petionville.)
Ben-what is your water situation like, I can send some coors but it may be awhile:) (we ER people have a jacked sense of humor) as you know. It does sound like the port has been shut down due to damage. the airport is having trouble distributing due to roads, lack of communication and orchestration, who is really in charge and things from the DR (heavy equipment) is going to be a slow process. I love you guys and am praying for you lots. Thank God you both are alive.
