Fault Lines

Ben and I were extremely impressed by this video that touches on the structural issues that made Haiti so vulnerable to the earthquake. It also presents a life-giving and sustainable alternative to the model of aid that has oppressed Haiti for many years. I've had the privilege of working on advocacy issues with PAPDA (one of the featured organizations) and can attest to their beautiful vision for social and economic justice in Haiti.

Hello, Thanks for posting this. An excellent analysis of the structural issues, and an inspiring reminder of the possible.

I've really appreciated your postings, and just wanted to encourage you in your work to keep justice part of the picture. It is not going unnoticed.

a quote i keep thinking about from the author of "A Paradise built in Hell" is this:

"Disaster are a time when the shackles of conventional belief and role fall away and the possibilities open up.”

Hopefully as we try to make sense of what is happening in Haiti we can develop a perspective that leaves lots of room for believing in and imagining the possible.

Kenbe,

JC
