Tomas in Leogane

Pretty terrible flooding in Leogane, a city that was mostly destroyed by the earthquake. Most large NGOs had the day off for safety reasons (other than PIH, who was set up in a large camp in Port-Au-Prince, ready to respond) but all of the major news networks and journalists made it out. Go figure. No need to fear the hurricane, though, because the UN had their tanks and guns ready.

Unbelievable pictures Ben! Our assessment team definately found this flooding to be the worst on this side of town yesterday and today. I copied your pics in the blog because they were so telling. Hopefully we will begin responding soon. Miss you guys so much. Would love to see you if your still in Leogane. We live here, you know. Call us.

Powerful photos as always, Ben. I'm glad you're safe, and broken for the people of Haiti.

Don't know what to say, except maybe to quote Lexi: "Oh, Haiti!"
